Dr. Escobar-Viera is Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Director of the Program for Internet Delivered Interventions on LGBTQA+ Mental Health (PRIDE iM) at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.

He is a psychiatrist and health services researcher with a master's degree in public health. Dr. Escobar-Viera’s mission as a researcher is to contribute to reducing mental health disparities among sexual and gender minority (SGM) youth and young adults. 

When not thinking about ways to improve LGBTQ+ people's mental health, he likes to spend time with his husband and their dog Benito, hiking, cooking and listening to 80s, 90s, and noughties music.
